Halloween Kicks Off the Holiday Season - Ready or Not!
Halloween: one of the most talked-about holidays, and no matter what you think about it, you have to admit it makes an impact. Just walk into any retail store, and you’ll know what I mean. This season, it’s like the holiday marathon begins in late October. Just the other day, I walked into Costco, and there it was – the biggest Christmas tree I’ve ever seen that’s actually supposed to fit in someone’s house! Is it just me, or does it feel like this season gets bigger and brighter every year?

When I was a kid, Halloween was pure magic: I’d run around with friends, fill my bag with candy, and probably get into less trouble than usual (or at least I hoped!). But now, as a business owner and coach, it’s less about candy and costumes and more about planning, balancing work, and making sure I’m prepared for what’s ahead. And let me tell you, 2024 has been a whirlwind already. If you’re like me and feeling a little behind for the holidays, you’re not alone.
For a lot of us, the holidays aren’t just about fun and festivities; they’re about serving our customers, creating experiences, and providing for our families. But if you haven’t mapped out your holiday specials or seasonal campaigns yet, don’t worry. I’ve learned that asking myself a few key questions can be a huge help when I’m scrambling to catch up
Lets Prepare Your Small Business for a Productive Holiday Season!
What’s my main goal for this season? Sometimes we’re trying to do everything at once. Getting clear on your focus helps you cut through the clutter and zero in on what matters most.
What products or services will really benefit my clients right now? Think about what’s useful, what’ll bring value, and what solves a current problem for them.
How can I add a personal touch? Sometimes, it’s the little extras—a handwritten note, a bonus session, or a special bundle—that make your holiday offer feel unique and worth remembering.
What’s realistic? If the plan’s too big to pull off, scale it back. The simpler you keep it, the more likely it’ll be a success.
How can I involve my team? If you have people supporting you, get them in on the planning. Not only does it lighten your load, but it also helps everyone feel part of the season.

So, don’t stress. Take a minute, answer these questions, and focus on making this season work for you and your clients. After all, just like Halloween candy, the best plans are sometimes the ones that are sweet and simple!
